During our Christmas stay, we absolutely loved the colonial charm of this historic inn. The antique furniture and interesting pictures created a unique atmosphere that made us feel like we had stepped back in time. The location was also perfect, with easy walking distance to the main attractions of the city. We especially enjoyed the terrace that overlooked the bustling street, where we could enjoy dinner and drinks while watching the locals play cricket. The restaurant offered a delicious welcome dish of spicy chickpeas, and the food in the evening was equally delightful.
There were a few aspects that we found disappointing. our room was described as deluxe, but it was small and lacked basic amenities like a TV and tea making facilities.

We loved this hotel's central location near the major sights and its friendly staff who went out of their way to ensure we had a comfortable stay. The room was clean and stylishly furnished, and the hotel had interesting common areas full of old photos. Breakfast was delicious, featuring a tasty fruit platter and cooked Western breakfast options.
Not one thing.

We had a fantastic stay at Royal Bar & Hotel in Kandy. The beautifully restored heritage building and lovely furnishings created a charming atmosphere. The stone courtyard, balcony, and inner courtyard made for peaceful retreats. The staff were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. We enjoyed a great breakfast with a variety of options. Despite the small rooms, they were cozy and equipped with aircon and mosquito nets. The front office lent us a modem for fast internet connection. The hotel's colonial British style and central location were truly an amazing find.
Would recommend this hotel.

We loved the charming colonial style of the hotel, especially the terrace and courtyard. The central location was convenient and provided a peaceful oasis. The staff, particularly a young employee, went above and beyond to ensure a pleasant stay. Despite a few minor issues with the room, our overall experience was positive.

The hotel is located in a historical building with interesting interior details. Staff members are very hospitable and provide excellent service. The breakfast offers a variety of freshly baked pastries, fruit and a choice of hot dishes. Rooms have comfortable beds and spacious bathrooms with hot water.
Some aspects of the hotel, such as decor and room amenities, could benefit from updates to provide a better guest experience.

Spent a lovely Christmas at a charming colonial-style hotel. The staff were friendly and courteous. The internet connection was available in the room and very fast. The hotel is located close to key attractions and it was easy to get around.
The hotel needs to improve its attention to detail. Some staff were not attentive and service in the restaurant was slow.

The hotel's location is ideal, with a great spot in the city. Guests appreciated the friendly staff and the beautiful antique-filled building. The breakfast options were magnificent, with a variety of baked goods and decent coffee. the bar downstairs had a great ambience and classic colonial architecture.
The hotel's WiFi was poor, which could be frustrating for guests who rely on a strong internet connection.

During my New Year stay, I was impressed by the hotel's location, which offered easy access to the nearby lake and temple. One of the best aspects was the delicious breakfast with an extensive selection of fresh fruit, eggs, and bread. the hotel staff was friendly and accommodating, always ready to assist.
Although the staff was friendly, some of them struggled with their English comprehension. The rooms were small without a lot of natural light, but the air conditioning was effective.

Recently stayed at the Royal Bar & Hotel for a couple of nights for a city break. The hotel's old colonial charm and attentive staff made the stay feel like home. Located close to main attractions, it was convenient for exploring. The food was excellent, and the balcony terrace offered a great spot to relax and people-watch. The preserved colonial atmosphere added a unique touch to the experience. Highly recommended for both couples and singles looking for a memorable stay.
Do recommend this hotel.

This hidden gem is a delightful blend of history and charm. The quaint rooms are well-appointed and the large breakfast spread is a treat. The friendly staff goes above and beyond to ensure a comfortable stay. The location is conveniently close to the main attractions, making it easy to explore the city. The vintage decor and memorabilia add a touch of nostalgia to the overall experience.
The street near the hotel could use some improvement in terms of cleanliness and lighting.
